The whole event went down quite well. It was a cool mixture of kids that take their lessons at Music Depot, plus a few accomplished seasoned vets, plus me. And Marc is always a great emcee.

I met KeysDAN–DJ, emcee, promo guy extraordinaire, and all around cool cat. He documented the event with pictures which you can check out here.

My set was a bit skewed to the punky:

1. If You Could Read My Mind (my pop-punk version of the Gordon Lightfoot classic)
2. Michael Iceberg (pop-punk song about a guy that used to play in Disney World)
3. Old Man Blues (garage punk rockabilly song about prostates and man-boobs)

LIVE DEBUT– Old Man Blues at church

I got to play a few songs last Sunday at church. In case you don’t know, it’s a home church. It was my home’s turn to be church. And we recently started to have our hosts (different home each week) add their personal touch to each week’s proceedings.

I of course took this as a chance to play a mini-set, with the finale being my new tune Old Man Blues, which I just finished recording and mixing the day before and was anxious to run by my fellow congregants. You don’t often hear songs about prostates and man-boobs in church.

So the songs I played (with no prior rehearsal nor set-planning other than getting the new song in, mind you) were: Sunset Drive, I’m Living My Lie, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band/With A Little Help From My Friends/Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (Beatles songs were by request), Old Man Blues.

It’s the most intense thing I’ve managed to do with the acoustic yet], and you can’t get in unless you’re on the list):
